1/2 a mile from the Brown Line Sedgewick stop, our salon treats clients to versatile haircuts from classic to fashion forward and exquisite hair color. Our focus is on finding your personalized style and color. Our storefront boutique carries Milbon and Moroccan Oil products.

Appointments
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment. We schedule appointments according to our stylists’ availability and specialty. If you are running late, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Arriving late will likely limit the time allocated for your service; it will lessen the effectiveness and most importantly your pleasure and enjoyment. As a courtesy to all clients our treatments are completed as scheduled. Cancellations of all services require a 24-hour notice. Thank you for your consideration and understanding. Suggestions are always welcome.

As owner of Salon Rouge, I am here to make sure that everything about your visit is perfect. Your decision to visit us is a choice that we deeply appreciate.I constantly strive to deliver the best services.
I graduated from Pivot Point in 1991 and always keep up with what is current with education.
My specialties include color, cut, keratin and chemical hair straightening.
Marco - Owner/Stylist
Recognized by Allure magazine as Chicago’s “Best of the Best” hair designers, Marco Cardenas is committed to designing hair styles that make his clients feel beautiful, confident, and sexy. He pays attention to each individual’s facial structure, hair texture, and lifestyle to create a signature cut that is free and playful.
As a expert colorist, he captures nature’s effect in all hair colors and textures through his unique method of multidimensional color placing. Marco is best known for his skill in creating blonde color and highlights that range from a Hamptons look (natural, classic, subtle) to West coast (golden, sunny, fun).
Since 2000, Marco has been Lead Stylist and Educator at Salon Rouge in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. He has built a client base that includes high profile professionals and international visitors who recognize Marco’s unique talents. As a Platform Artist, Marco educated hair stylists in several states. He has been recognized for his ability to motivate professionals to be committed to their craft and creativity.
Marco has traveled the world to explore how diverse cultures understand beauty. He draws influence from sources that range from new trends in cutting and styling to the lines, colors, and shapes he encounters in studying art and architecture. This experience has enabled him to create a fusion of styles, blending classic and modern looks that get his clients noticed.

I am a graduate from Pivot Point Academy. I'm proud to say that I have 30+ yrs experience in the Beauty Industry. 22 of the those years have been as part Owner of Salon Rouge.
I am passionate and committed to applying the skills and techniques that I have learned to making you feel and look your best.
My philosophy is, "Your hair Is a extension of yourself,
so it should always be your Best Accessory".
